While we are all lockdown at home during COVID 19, one Long Beach queen Jewels is making life a bit less of a drag.
In March, Jewels and her creation group made up of roommates, put on a drag early lunch act through Facebook Live from her lawn. The week by week appear, which goes live every Sunday, keeps going around two hours.
Jewels consistently have a drag early lunch at Hamburger Mary’s in downtown Long Beach. Since the coronavirus pandemic shut bars, clubs, and settings over the Southland, she realized she needed to accomplish something.
“I’ve been in Long Beach for over 20 years entertaining the entire city,” said Jewels.
“I have the amazing fortune to make my living as an entertainer, a full-time drag queen,” Jewels said.
“The community really rallied around it,” Jewels said. “It was completely just me making a fool of myself in the backyard, acting up, not polished, just being fun.”
