This Is Us has already completed two-thirds of the Big Three trilogy. We get into the final member and it’ll all revolve around Randall (Sterling K. Brown). The climax episode is directed by Justin Hartley, who plays Kevin, and focuses on the connection between adopted brother Randall and mother Rebecca (Mandy Moore). In the current day, a mother and son go on a road trip to deal with a family dilemma, exposing their pains as well as their special bond’s closeness. “Every Version of You” is the title of the episode, written by Kay Oyegun. The episode begins with a day at the pool with the family. A girl doing the backstroke in the pool piques Kate’s interest. Rebecca tries to get her to come in, but she refuses. Fast forward to the early twenties, when the kids are in their early twenties, the pool is closed, and Kate, Randall, and Kevin are present. Rebecca still refuses to go in, and when Jack attempts to persuade her, she tells him it’s not going to happen.
Kate flew to San Francisco to be with Toby since she felt her marriage needed a boost. Toby was unable to pick Kate up from the airport owing to a work phone call, so the trip got off to a bumpy start. When Toby had to accept another call after enjoying an intimate moment with Kate in the bedroom, the hits kept coming. Kate was so frustrated that she imagined Toby from a few years ago, the one who always made her laugh. Despite the rocky start, things started to look up as the pair visited the city over the day. When Toby suggested buying a house in San Francisco and even brought Kate to an open house where he obtained an appointment with a real estate broker, Kate’s happiness faded.
Don’t worry, things have just gotten worse! Toby’s supervisor told Kate at a work party that he was pleased to learn that her husband had turned down a job in Los Angeles in order to stay in San Francisco. Later, the gloves came off as Kate and Toby traded verbal jabs, admitting that they are content in every aspect of their lives except their marriage. When Toby continued to press Kate to relocate the family to San Francisco the next morning, cooler heads did not prevail. She informs him that she requires some fresh air. Kate goes for a walk and looks over a hill, recalling Jack’s attempt to teach her how to float and his advice to believe in herself. She keeps going up the hill. Kate responded by going for a walk and then calling Philip to apply for a teaching post at the school.
