Top 5 Spanish TV Series List:
- Sky Rojo (Red Leatherette)
Release Date: 2021
Current # of Seasons: 3
If you’re up for a funny and exciting TV show, Sky Rojo might be the one you’re looking for. It’s all about three prostitutes who escaped their pimp to seek freedom. Throughout their escape, they’ll face various challenges that will strengthen their friendship and other lessons in life. This series falls under the dark comedy genre with a bit of action and drama. It’s surely a good watch for a group of friends, especially ladies since you’ll be able to connect it in a way.
For us, in particular, what made this series so special was the cinematography and choice of music. We wouldn’t want to share the details that much because we want you to enjoy the series and discover the awesome stuff the way we did.
2. Elite
Release Date: 2018
Current # of Seasons: 7
Teen drama is one of the best genres to watch with your friends, and Elite takes it up a notch by adding mystery and thrill to the typical school drama we used to watch. Elite is a popular Spanish TV show about three working-class students who got admitted into an exclusive private school where only the sons and daughters of the elites can enroll and study.
Of course, there’s this typical class division and the conflict that happens alongside it, division, but things take a dark turn when a murder occurs within the school’s premises. The suspense builds up as they try to find the person who committed the murder. The series is currently in season 7, but Netflix has already confirmed that season 8 is in the works and will be the show’s final season.
Since this show is a Netflix Original, it’s not available on other streaming platforms. But hopefully, soon, it can be aired on various channels like Hulu, HBO Max, DISH Latino, and more since it’s really a great show to watch.
3. The Boarding School: Las Cumbres
Release Date: 2021
Current # of Seasons: 3
The Boarding School: Las Cumbres is a story about a reform school that accepts problem children. This school is located in an isolated area somewhere high in the mountains and is ideally situated beside an old monastery. There are lots of things happening in the series: drama, murders, escapes, chases, and many more. It’s an entertaining TV series, to say the least, but since it’s a remake, other people may have other expectations, given that they saw the original show.
4. Narcos
Release Date: 2015
Current # of Seasons: 3
If you’ve watched and loved Breaking Bad, then Narcos is a TV show you shouldn’t miss. It’s about the story of Pablo Escobar, the world’s famous drug lord, and the rise and fall of the Medellín drug cartel in Colombia. But just a quick disclaimer: Narcos isn’t entirely a Spanish series. It’s more of a bilingual one, primarily in Spanish, but there are occasional English in the story.
The show has been praised for its raw depiction of the drug trade’s brutality and the intricate power struggles within Escobar’s empire, and it’s a treat to watch, really. There’s just one thing we need you to remember before binge-watching this series: make sure to have a fast internet connection. If you’re not satisfied, maybe it’s time to check other cable or fiber internet plans that suit your streaming needs.
5. Who Killed Sara?
Release Date: 2021
Current # of Seasons: 3
Who Killed Sara is about a guy named Alex Guzman. He’s wrongly accused of murdering his sister, Sara. After spending 18 years of his time in prison, he’s determined to uncover the truth about her sister’s death, mainly finding out who the real culprit is and seeking revenge from a specific family who did him dirty. This crime drama series will keep you and your friends constantly thinking and guessing who’s the real killer behind Sara’s death.
