Tracker Season 2 Episode 2 Recap: “Ontological Shock” – Aired: October 20

The question is raised: Who keeps an eye on the Tracker in a world where government plots and the unknown are common? Colter Shaw (Justin Hartley), played by Justin Hartley, goes missing in Season 2, Episode 2 of Tracker. This raises the stakes a lot. The team has to work together to solve a mystery that may involve aliens since the government is involved and his brother Russell (Jensen Ackles) is coming back to help.

Tracker Season 2, Episode 2 Recap: “Ontological Shock”

At the start of the episode, Scott Palmer (Steven Culp) is seen running through the woods while filming a video that looks like it was found. He says that he is about to find a secret, unexplored Department of Defense site. He is caught off guard when all of a sudden, his camera stops working and a bright light surrounds him.

At the same time, Colter Shaw shows up at a house in Pennsylvania. Scott’s daughter Patty (Brooke Nevin) hires him to find her father. Colter finds out that Scott is retired and loves to hike, but lately he’s been really interested in government plots. He thinks someone is following him because of what he knows, especially about Dr. Iris Blair (April Parker Jones) an astrophysics professor he has been bothering. Colter looks into Scott’s disappearance even though he doesn’t believe it was anything other than him going off the grid.

Colter learns that Scott and Dr. Blair talked a lot about NHIs (Non-Human Intelligence) and UAPs (Unidentified Anonymous Phenomena). Scott’s repeated calls to Dr. Blair suggest a connection that isn’t as hostile as it seems, despite Colter’s doubts. Dr. Blair seems more interested in Scott’s obsession than scared when Colter talks to her.

In a twist, Colter’s hacker friend Bobby (Eric Graise) fully believes in UAPs and the government’s attempts to hide them. They work together to find Scott’s last known location, but their call drops during the process. Colter’s electronics start to break down, just like Scott’s did earlier and a bright light flashes, leaving viewers to wonder what will happen next.

While hours go by, the team starts to worry because they still haven’t heard from Colter. Russell Shaw is called in to help Reenie (Fiona Rene). Colter wakes up in a clean, scary room where he is being held down and questioned by a clean-cut government agent (Matt Passmore). The agent questions Colter about Scott, but Colter doesn’t say much. But when he is left alone, Colter easily gets out of his chains, which makes people suspicious about how easy it was for him to get away.

Colter starts to figure out what’s going on when his brother Russell shows up and helps him get away. As they drive off, Colter realizes that they got away too easily and thinks that the agents are using him because they know how to track people. Russell breaks Colter’s phone and finds a tracking device in Colter’s neck. They know it’s funny that a tracker is being tracked.

Back at Dr. Blair’s house, they find out that Scott had been helping her research UAPs in secret so that she could keep her good name. Colter and Dr. Blair find coordinates that could help find Scott’s next location after they lose contact. They are getting ready to find him for good.

As they look into it, they find a second black site that is very busy. Russell says they might be at a UAP landing site, which makes Colter doubtful. Colter finds Scott hiding in a lab in the middle of all the chaos. Scott, on the other hand, is determined to stay put because he is sure that a “vessel is coming” and he needs to see it for himself. His grief over the death of his wife feeds his obsession, which makes him think he’s about to make a huge discovery.

As the episode goes on, a British man comes up to the Shaw brothers and gives them a phone call from Reenie. Russell stopped calling her back, which made her worried. There is no doubt that the brothers don’t know about the search for them.

Tracker Season 2 episode 2recap

Toward the end of the episode, the stakes are raised a lot. Russell and Colter may think they have solved the problem, but they don’t know that Dr. Blair has been silenced by government agents who see her as a threat. The episode is filled with ominous hints of government interference and family secrets. Especially when Russell says he has an unidentified piece of material that he wants to look into.

Russell’s classic Chevrolet is what Colter and Scott take off in after saving Scott and putting him back with Patty. During a quiet moment, Colter talks to Russell about their sister Dory’s “secret box,” which holds their dad’s things. Russell says the box isn’t important because it’s just “junk,” but Colter knows there’s more to it than that. Russell’s vague answer makes the audience wonder what he might know that isn’t being said.

The episode makes people think about the shadows that hang over the Shaw family hinting at unsolved mysteries that will definitely be solved in the next episodes. The government’s interest in Scott, Dr. Blair’s untimely death, and what their father’s secrets mean for them make “Ontological Shock” a powerful mix of suspense, family drama, and conspiracy that sets the stage for a very intense season to come.
