Cordell Walker’s personal life has changed since reuniting with Twyla Jean. Geri Broussard felt resentful of the restored pair and ended things with the Texas Ranger as she sought assistance from the Davidsons. Stella is split between two boys as her high school graduation approaches. Walker spends more time with Twyla after learning about Geri’s true origins, much to Liam’s dismay. Walker is unhappy with Denise’s plan to infiltrate a money-laundering group using a horse auction as a front. Sensing problems, the party tries to penetrate the auction before being captured by the money launderers, leading to a full-on fistfight in which Walker and his colleague Cassie Perez capture the thieves. After the money laundering bust, Twyla and Walker hook up. Stella’s boyfriend Todd gets envious of her interest in Colton Davidson, resulting in a school brawl.
Trey Barnett breaks up the brawl but takes a punch from Todd as he prepares to join the Rangers as a counselor on Captain Larry James’ suggestion. Walker tries to start a serious relationship with Twyla against Geri’s objections. After meeting with August, Twyla believes she and Walker have too much-complicated history from his undercover mission when they originally met, so she rejects his advances. Denise is also uncomfortable growing close to Geri, despite realizing they are sisters, but she shares a drink with her and bonds with her. The next morning, Walker discovers Twyla has deserted her new house, leaving her upset before learning the DA is relocating her to a different county. Walker assumes Denise, jealous of their romance, is behind the relocation, while Twyla sought the county transfer to get away. Stella and Todd break up peacefully following Todd’s talk with Trey after his fight with Colton. Stella and Colton finally start dating after this chat, kissing in the school. Walker commiserates with Liam about his romantic difficulties and investigates the horse auction he busted with Twyla. Walker suspects the Davidsons cheated to grab control of the Walker property, reigniting the family rivalry.
