What can we expect from Season 3 of The Umbrella Academy?
Steve Blackman, the show’s creator, and showrunner, recently spoke to Newsweek ahead of the third season’s release, assuring fans that the third season will take up precisely where the second season ended, with the dramatic ending. He also discussed the arrival of another family, The Sparrows, and how exciting it will be to see the Umbrella Academy band together to battle a shared opponent.
“We pick off where we left off at the end of Season 2 with our Umbrella Academy.” They’ve returned to the academy, but unhappily, another family, The Sparrows, claims to be residing there. Something is clearly wrong, as [Reginald] Hargreeves (Colm Feore) is also present… Hargreeves is dead in their history, and Ben is also dead in their chronology, although they both look to be alive. So that’s a major distinction,” he added.
“I think the way I would differentiate the families is the Umbrella Academy is a family that doesn’t know how to be superheroes, whereas the Sparrow Academy is a family of superheroes who doesn’t know how to be a family,” he said to the fans when asked how he would differentiate the families. On the other side, Blackman stated that there would be some extremely moving moments in the future season, sincere moments full of shocks.
The Umbrella Academy is a popular American time travel superhero show that debuted in February of this year. The show’s creators decided to renew it for a second season after receiving excellent feedback from the viewers. Now that the series has been renewed for a third season, the creators have revealed the release date, confirming that it will premiere on Netflix on June 22, 2022.
