The soap opera “Days of Our Lives” has suspended production for at least one week due to an investigation into workplace misconduct involving longtime co-executive producer/director Albert Alarr. Following a nine-week internal inquiry into reports of abusive behavior toward staff members that left them feeling uncomfortable and degraded, the employee has been suspended.
Although the precise cause of the production halt has not been made public, it appears to be so that the parties concerned can assess the situation before taking any further action. The creators of “Days of Our Lives,” Corday Productions, hired Sony Pictures Television to carry out an unbiased inquiry, and based on the results, they have taken action to maintain a safe and courteous workplace.
According to reports, Albert Alarr was given a formal warning and instructed to complete training, but he kept his jobs as co-executive producer and director, which infuriated the cast and crew.
In a now-deleted Instagram story, actress Lisa Rinna, who played the same character in the spin-off “Beyond Salem,” backed up some of the claims and expressed her horror at the working conditions.
The show’s forty-year veteran actor Peter Reckell also tweeted about the controversy, expressing his wish for a speedy settlement and a return to the program’s previous ideals of respect for all people and family.
The production of “Days of Our Lives” is still halted due to the inquiry and the ongoing problems, and it won’t start up again until at least July 7th. Originally, it was scheduled to start up again on July 31st.
