Angela’s mother Minnie (Natasha Burnett) extends an olive branch and asks Landis (Todd Thomson) to dinner in this episode. Dinner is awkward at first. Joseph (Viv Leacock), is skeptical of his wife’s idea. Landis who used to be a music teacher and Angela take a seat at the piano and perform a lighthearted piece. He informs Elizabeth before he leaves town that he’s thinking about returning to teaching. Allie (Jaeda Lily Miller), Nathan’s (Kevin McGarry) niece is now mature and has returned. She first chastises her uncle for not allowing her to ride back to Hope Valley alone. She then teases him about Mei Sou (Amanda Wong) in a gentle manner. Nathan and Allie had a lighthearted relationship, but when she learns about his accident, things become more serious. She’s angry that he didn’t tell her about it sooner. Her affections for Robert (Jaiven Natt), which she admits may go beyond a crush. Nathan is not prepared for Allie to begin dating. when she greets him as Dad for the first time, his entire demeanor shifts.
Meanwhile, Rosemary (Pascale Hutton) is concerned that working at the Valley Voice with Lee (Kavan Smith) is straining their marriage. He seemed to be avoiding her. Things get even worse when she finds a poem concealed among his papers on his desk. Elizabeth tries to reassure her friend that he would never even consider looking at another woman. Finally, she felt, Lee, prefers that they spend more time together rather than less. Lucas (Chris McNally) and Elizabeth’s romance heats up in this episode. She discovers him working on Lee’s old motorcycle, and things get a little hot when she compliments him. However, Robert interrupts them to deliver the mail.
Lucas explains that he bought the motorcycle to “let off steam.” When Lucas and Nathan challenge each other to a race, Lucas rides a bike and Nathan rides a horse. This whole competition seems ludicrous to Elizabeth. Lucas is halted in the middle of the race as his motorcycle breaks down, losing the race to Nathan and Sergeant. He and Elizabeth had an emotional talk. He tells her, “You are my passion.” “And if we marry,” he continues, “I will rush home to you every night.” He also has to walk the motorcycle the rest of the way home. they hint at getting married in the future, solidifying their relationship. There isn’t much going on with Wyman Walden, but Bill (Jack Wagner) and Nathan are keeping an eye on him.
Fiona (Kayla Wallace) has returned from San Francisco, where she finalized the sale of the oil company to Jerome Smith and his backers. However, Henry Gowen (Martin Cummins) is dissatisfied since he slowed down the sale while trying to figure out what Smith was up to. If he’d told Fiona about the plan before she left, it could have worked out better. During a girls’ night out with Mei Sou and Faith, Allie gets some advice on embracing her inherent beauty.
