Nathan makes an attempt to mount Newton, but he has difficulty. He puts the saddle on and takes Newton on a walk with a little patience, only to find a traffic jam in the square, which annoys Newton. The excitement and noise bothers everyone, so Henry parks his car on the side of the road and walks to work. Elizabeth expresses her worries to Rosemary regarding Lucas’s engagement with Walden. She attempts to talk to Lucas about it, but he is deafeningly silent. Ned is concerned because a case of cling peaches has gone stolen. Molly stops by, and Florence is inspired by something she says. Mike pays May a visit for a styptic pencil and complements Faith on her hair. After that, Faith inquires about May and Jeffrey. There was no way things were going to work out. Bill reminds Lee that he and Rosemary manage the paper while Nathan, Bill, and Lee discuss the traffic difficulties they can’t do anything about because Mike is mayor.
Mike pays a visit to the clinic to invite Faith to supper.
