When Calls the Heart Season 9 Episode 8 Recap
Geoffrey Lewis (Chris Cope), who claims to be Mei Sou’s (Amanda Wong) husband, hasn’t left Hope Valley. Mei turned off his advances, but it didn’t stop him from announcing their marriage to the world. She fled to Hope Valley to get away from him, but he tracked her down. Nathan is convinced by her story, but it isn’t enough. He must find evidence that Geoffrey is lying. Lee (Kavan Smith) has found the power – and danger – of words on paper. He used to enjoy voicing his unfiltered ideas in Valley Voice editorials, but now he’s paying the price. Hickam (Ben Rosenbaum), who has battled to establish his feet as the new mayor of Hope Valley, has been harmed by his critics. Nathan may not have a kiss, but he does receive a big hug later in the show when he discovers evidence that Geoffrey is married — just not to Mei. He left his true wife behind in Illinois. Faith (Andrea Brooks) has been pleading with Bill (Jack Wagner) to visit Union City for a chest X-ray, but he has dismissed her. However, his condition is deteriorating. Faith hands him a bottle of cough medicine and instructs him to take it whenever he needs it. Bill, on the other hand, takes too much medicine and becomes as high as a kite. Lucas (Chris McNally) spends the day in Elizabeth’s (Erin Krakow) class and realises he has a knack for teaching. Nathan needs to settle down, and Allie is ready for him to do so. He tells Elizabeth and Lucas that she appears to want a younger brother or sister. After that, Nathan has a sweet moment where he realises that love “can’t be imposed, only freely offered.” Elizabeth lends a hand to a woman who operates a little school in the country. Ned continues to teach about Hanukkah, which he describes as “all about hope and miracles.” For letting Rosemary dress him up like Romeo, replete with awful bangs, Lee truly deserves the husband of the year title.
