When will Emma D’Arcy appear in which episode of House of the Dragon?

But possibly only a few episodes of Milly Alcock and Emily Carey are left. As the story dramatically jumps in time, it will come as sad news to many that some of those characters will be replaced by other performers. Only halfway through the first season of House of the Dragon will Olivia Cooke and Emma D’Arcy make an appearance. Yes, there will be a time jump after Milly Alcock plays the part for five episodes, at which point Emma D’Arcy will take her place. The season’s midpoint sees the tale advance by ten years, at which point Cooke and D’Arcy become the lead roles. SPOILER ALERT!

Prince Aegon Targaryen‘s second name day is commemorated in House of the Dragon season 1, episode 3, which suggests Alicent became pregnant with him practically right away after she wed King Viserys. The three-year gap also suggests that Alicent Hightower is now expecting her second child. Alicent teases that she will likely be expecting at least one more child (maybe three) by episode four of House of the Dragon because of how far along she is in her pregnancy. If the Targaryen heirs of the House of the Dragon are born according to the timeline provided in Fire & Blood by George R.R. Martin, then Alicent Hightower is expecting her daughter Helaena Targaryen right now.

Emma will also play Rhaenyra in House of the Dragon beginning with episode 6. Emma begins to portray the Targaryen princess in the sixth episode, according to metro.co.uk.  However, it has always been the intention for Season 1 of House of the Dragon to cover a number of decades in order to illustrate the family’s larger tale.

However, Rhaenyra is not the only character whose casting will change in the middle of the series. The actors that portrayed Laena Velaryon and Laenor Velaryon will also change. Alicent Hightower, who was portrayed by Emily Carey, will now be played by Olivia Cooke. Laenor has thus far been portrayed by Theo Tate, but John MacMillan will take over after episode five. Laena has been played up to this point by Nova Fouellis-Mose, but will be replaced by Nanna Blondell as an adult.

Daemon and Corlys have been consistently losing the War for the Stepstones against the Crab Feeder and the Triarchy in the three years between episodes 2 and 3. With Corlys’ brother Vaemond almost instigating a mutiny, it was evident that the conflict had grown frustrating for those under Daemon and Corlys’ command. Only two weeks remained before the Crab Feeder’s army had to submit to Daemon, who marched right into their camp and emerged victorious. Daemon’s rage has only gotten worse over this time gap because the time jump meant that it also took three years for him to hear from his brother and acquire assistance from King’s Landing. As a result, House of the Dragon episode 4 can be anticipated to include an even larger conflict between the two.

On Sunday, September 11 House of the Dragon’s fourth episode will premiere on HBO. On Monday, September 5, at 9:00 p.m. on Sky Atlantic.
