Where Is Krystal Hall Now? A Fresh Update on the My 600-lb Life Star

Hey there, TV fans! If you’re hooked on TLC’s “My 600-lb Life,” you probably remember Krystal Hall from Season 9, Episode 7, titled “Krystal’s Journey.” In the episode, Krystal, a resident of Ohio at the time, opens up about her struggles with obesity, which stem from a traumatic childhood involving years of abuse. She explains that she turned to overeating as a coping mechanism, using her weight as a “protective layer” to shield herself from further harm. Weighing over 600 pounds at the start, Krystal faces a critical decision: move to Houston, Texas, for bariatric surgery—an 18-hour drive from her family—or risk her health deteriorating further. Throughout the episode, Krystal is supported by her husband, Freelin, as she grapples with the emotional and logistical challenges of pursuing surgery.

At TV Acute, we’re diving into what made Krystal’s journey so unforgettable and catching you up on where she’s at today. Spoiler: she’s a fighter, and her story’s still unfolding! So, what’s the latest on Krystal Hall 600-lb Life star? Let’s break it down.

Krystal Hall’s weight loss Journey

Krystal’s Tough Road to a Healthier Life

Krystal Hall faced significant challenges. Obesity messed with every part of her world. She struggled to move, dealt with joint pain, and found breathing tough after just a few steps. She opened up about her childhood, sharing how abuse starting at age five pushed her toward food for comfort. Binge eating became her go-to, but it also became her biggest hurdle. Looking at her family—her husband, Freelin and her kids—she knew she had to fight for a better life.

When Krystal first met Dr. Now, the scale read 618 pounds. That’s a heavy load, both physically and emotionally. The doc gave her a strict diet and exercise plan, but the first month was rough—she didn’t hit his goal. Still, she didn’t quit. By her next visit, she’d dropped to 579 pounds, showing some serious grit. Dr. Now then threw her a big challenge: move from Ohio to Houston, Texas, for weight loss surgery. That’s an 18-hour drive away from her husband’s job and her son’s life. Tough call, right?

In 2020, COVID-19 put everything on hold. Elective surgeries ceased, and Krystal’s routine endured significant disruption. When she checked in with Dr. Now later, the scale showed she’d gained back 53 pounds, climbing to around 632 pounds. But here’s the thing—she didn’t let that break her. She kept pushing, eventually settling at 556 pounds after 12 months. To stay on track, she made the leap to Houston, chasing that surgery and a fresh start.

Krystal’s Career Comeback and Unstoppable Drive

Krystal is not only a reality TV star, but also a diligent worker with a generous heart. Before My 600-lb Life, she built a solid career helping others. After graduating from Chillicothe High School, she studied at Ohio University and jumped into mental health support. From 2008 to 2010, she worked as a Crisis Intervention Specialist at Scioto Paint Valley Mental Health, lending a hand to people in tough spots. Then, in 2010, she joined Frontier Community Services as a Rehabilitation Specialist, sticking with it until 2015.

But obesity started creeping in, and it got so bad she had to step back from work. The years before 2020 were brutal—she wrestled with body dysmorphia and health scares. Yet, Krystal kept fighting. With Dr. Now’s guidance, she turned things around. By February 2020, she landed a gig at Scioto Trails Group Homes, and she’s still there today. Then, in October 2022, she added another role as a Customer Service Representative at Teleperformance USA, a top-notch digital business service company. Juggling two jobs? That’s Krystal showing she’s more motivated than ever!

Family: Krystal’s Rock Through It All

Krystal Hall’s family is her backbone. Her husband, Freelin—yep, Krystal My 600-lb Life husband—is her biggest cheerleader. When Dr. Now put her on that strict diet, Freelin didn’t just nod from the sidelines. He ate the same meals, making sure she never felt alone. That’s love, folks! They tied the knot in March 2020, locking in their unbreakable bond. Freelin’s been there through every weigh-in, every tear, and every win.

Then there’s her son, Josh. Technically her nephew (her sister’s kid), Krystal fought for his custody to give him a stable home. She wants to be there for him—hiking together is her big dream, and it’s what keeps her going. She’s also a proud mom to her daughter, Jessie Leah Nicole Park. In May 2023, Jessie graduated high school, and Krystal couldn’t stop gushing about her resilience. Fast forward to November 2024, and Jessie made Krystal a grandma with the birth of little Judith Marie. Talk about a full heart!

Oh, and don’t forget Harley, her furry best friend. That pup brings her comfort every day. Krystal’s family—human and canine—keeps her grounded and pushing forward.

So, Where’s Krystal My 600-lb Life Now?

Here’s the million-dollar question: Where is Krystal My 600-lb Life today? She’s kept things pretty quiet since her episode aired on February 10, 2021. Her Instagram’s private, and her Facebook only drops hints—longer hair, happy smiles with Freelin and Josh, but no big surgery reveal. Did she get the weight loss surgery? We don’t know for sure. The pandemic left her story hanging, but her determination shone through. She told Dr. Now she was ready to change for herself and her family, and that fire hasn’t dimmed.

Krystal’s thriving in her career, cherishing her family, and living life on her terms. She’s not spilling all the details, but her social media vibe says she’s in a better place. At TV Acute, we’re rooting for her! She exemplifies the ability to overcome obstacles, such as a worldwide pandemic or a challenging beginning, and emerge triumphant.
