When interviewed by Collider, director Chad Stahelski disclosed that the film’s opening sequence was shot in Aqaba, Jordan“I would say the greatest word would be tricky, very tricky. Obviously, we do what we can where we’re at, and then we try to movie-magic our way through some of the trickier stuff. But we had an amazing location diversity on the scout from Sacré Coeur, to Arc de Triomphe, to the Louvre, to the Eiffel Tower, to some amazing places throughout. I mean we were in Aqaba, Jordan for our opening sequence. Paris, Berlin, Tokyo, Osaka. We got around on this one. So hopefully, we brought all that great imagery to screen.”

John Wick 4 was Filmed in Aqaba

It has been reported that the beginning scene of “John Wick: Chapter 4” was filmed on location in Aqaba, Jordan, which is the only beachfront city in the country. Jordan’s most well-known port is located on the Gulf of Aqaba on the Red Sea. The Aqaba Fort, built by the Muslims in the coastal city, is the city’s most recognizable landmark.   In terms of the sequences set in the desert, those were also filmed on-site in the Wadi Rum Desert, which is located some 60 kilometers east of Aqaba Port City.

Arc de Triomphe, Paris, France

 Brandenburg Metropolitan Area, Germany

The Babelsberg Film Studio is located in Brandenburg Metropolitan Area just outside of Berlin, Germany, and was used to film some crucial scenes for John Wick 4. It’s the world’s second-oldest studio dedicated to making movies on a massive scale. Germany’s capital city, Berlin, which dates to the 13th century, is renowned across the world for its historical architecture and monuments.  Some of the outside shots were captured in Gendarmenmarkt, Berlin’s ancient market square, while the party scene in which John eliminates his foes one by one was taken in Kraftwerk Berlin on Köpenicker Str.

 John Wick 4 Filming Locations: The National Art Center, Tokyo

The production crew needed to shoot certain scenes in Japan, where they were able to make the most of the diverse landscapes the country offers. Osaka was an important location for the filming of “John Wick 4” together with the nation’s capital, Tokyo. A large portion of the film was shot at and around The National Art Center, Tokyo, in the Minato City neighborhood of Tokyo.

The Brooklyn Bridge, New York

The production team for “John Wick4” took advantage of New York City and its surrounding areas to film additional scenes for the film. These scenes were shot in The Brooklyn Bridge, and around the city. One of the most important parts of the film takes place on Roosevelt Island in New York City, more specifically in the Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms State Park.
